In an important ceremonial event, Secretary of War Pete Hegseth honored the heroism and commitment of military personnel at Fort Campbell in Kentucky. The occasion, part of the ‘Week of the Eagles’ festivities, involved the enlistment of new soldiers, a duty carried out by Hegseth himself. More importantly, Hegseth bestowed Purple Heart medals upon nine deserving individuals from the 101st Airborne Division. These medals are awarded to service members who have been wounded or killed in action while serving.
